Status of Investigations into Cause of Leakage in PWR Fuel Storage Pool of Spent Fuel Receiving/Storage Facility and Future Plan

JNFL cut out part of the lining as test pieces, and investigated and analyzed them at an external research facility as part of its investigations of the leakage in the PWR fuel storage pool.  However, no penetrating defect area could be identified as the cause of the leakage. For this reason, JNFL has decided to investigate again the weld line of the western lining in the northern walls of the pool to precisely locate the area of leakage.
