Within the sequence of RRP Final Commissioning Test (so called Active Test), we have been recovering Uranium-Plutonium Mixed Oxide since Nov. 2nd. On 16th, we have successfully started to produce Uranium-Plutonium Mixed Oxide Powder, and placed them into canisters. After the canisters are sealed, those are conveyed to the Uranium-Plutonium Mixed Oxide Storage Facility, and have been managed under strict control.
Consequently, the long-awaited semi-domestic energy production has initiated by this operation in our country, which has very limited natural resources. And at the same time, we are confident that, this will serve widely to secure energy resource and global environmental issues.
Since RRP is applying Japan original " Mixed Denitration Process Technology ", which has a high creditability for nuclear nonproliferation scheme, and also, introducing IAEA's Full Scope Safe Guard measures, as well as accepting its inspection under the existing Agreement, we trust that it is one of the masterpieces of " Peaceful Use of Nuclear ".
