The final phase of the ongoing intake of Low-level Radioactive Waste from Hamaoka nuclear power station, operated by Chubu Electric Company in Shizuoka prefecture and from Tokai-2 nuclear power station, operated by The Japan Atomic Power Company in Ibaragi prefecture, was completed today. Overland transport vehicles loaded with LLW began leaving Mutsu-Ogawara port at 10:31. The first vehicle arrived at the centre at 10:49, and the last vehicle was unloaded at 12:17. Intake of the LLW to the centre was officially completed at 12:22. The total number of the containers received today was 37 containers(296 drums), for an aggregate total of 137 containers(1096 drums). |
