Press Release Concerning the Third 1998 Intake of Low-Level Radioactive Waste to the Low-Level Radioactive Waste Disposal Centre in Rokkasho-Mura |

The final phase of the ongoing intake of Low-level Radioactive Waste from Shimane nuclear power station, operated by Chugoku Electric Power Company in Shimane prefecture, was completed today. Overland transport vehicles loaded with LLW began leaving Mutsu-Ogawara port at 9:50. The first vehicle arrived at the centre at 10:05, and the last vehicle was unloaded at 16:02. Intake of the LLW to the centre was officially completed at 16:08. The total number of the containers received today was 120 containers(960 drums), for an aggregate total of 200 containers(1600 drums). |
