Press Release Concerning the Fourth 1998 Intake of Low-Level Radioactive Waste to the Low-Level Radioactive Waste Disposal Centre in Rokkasho-Mura |

The final phase of the ongoing intake of Low-level Radioactive Waste from Fukushima-1 nuclear power station, operated by Tokyo Electric Power Company in Fukushima prefecture, was completed today. Overland transport vehicles loaded with LLW began leaving Mutsu-Ogawara port at 9:54. The first vehicle arrived at the centre at 10:10, and the last vehicle was unloaded at 15:16. Intake of the LLW to the centre was officially completed at 15:23. The total number of the containers received today was 100 containers(800 drums), for an aggregate total of 280 containers(2240 drums). |
