Press Release Concerning the Ninth 1998 Shipment of Low-level Radioactive Waste

The ninth 1998 shipment of Low-Level Radioactive Waste(LLW) is scheduled to be received at the Rokkasho-Mura Low-Level Radioactive Waste Disposal Centre on 8 March 1999. The LLW is owned by Kyushu Electric Power Company, and will be shipped from its Genkai Nuclear Power Station in Saga prefecture. The shipment will consist of 840 drums, with each drum containing 200 liters of LLW. Unloading and receiving procedures are expected to take two days.
