Press Release Concerning the Tenth 1998 Shipment of Low-level Radioactive Waste

The tenth 1998 shipment of Low-Level Radioactive Waste(LLW) is scheduled to be received at the Rokkasho-Mura Low-Level Radioactive Waste Disposal Centre on 24 March 1999. The LLW is owned by Tokyo Electric Power Company, and will be shipped from its Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station in Fukushima prefecture. The shipment will consist of 2200 drums, with each drum containing 200 liters of LLW. Unloading and receiving procedures are expected to take three days.
