Press Release Concerning the Shipment of Casks Used in the Transport of Phase III Returned Vitrified Waste

Of the three casks used to transport Phase III returned vitrified waste from COGEMA in France to the Vitrified Waste Centre in Rokkasho-mura, JNFL has announced that the last two casks will be removed from the Centre on April 15 for return shipment to COGEMA. The two casks will be loaded onto the transport ship, "Pacific Swan", which is now en route from France to Japan with a cargo of vitrified waste. The ship is scheduled to arrive at the port of Mutsu-Ogawara on April 15. A detailed schedule will be announced on the appointed day, together with an unloading schedule for the Phase IV returned vitrified waste.
