Press Release Concerning Completion of Spent Fuel Samples Shipment

JNFL is pleased to announce that the shipment of spent fuel samples (28 spent fuel assemblies for PWR) from Shikoku Electric Power Company’s Ikata Nuclear Power Station to the JNFL Spent Fuel Receiving and Storage Building was completed today. JNFL deeply appreciates the understanding and cooperation of local authorities and police in Aomori, Rokkasho-Mura and neighboring districts in connection with this shipment. JNFL will take all possible measures to ensure safety during the calibration operations to follow. It will follow the procedures set out in the safety agreement entered into with the prefecture, and will take all possible measures to ensure safety and earn public trust at JNFL facilities in the future.
