Press Release Concerning the Fifth 1999 Shipment of Low-level Radioactive Waste

The fifth 1999 shipment of Low-Level Radioactive Waste(LLW) is scheduled to be received at the Rokkasho-Mura Low-Level Radioactive Waste Disposal Centre on 30 September 1999. The LLW is owned by Chubu Electric Power Company, and will be shipped from its Hamaoka Nuclear Power Station in Shizuoka prefecture. The shipment will consist of 800 drums, with each drum containing 200 liters of LLW. Unloading and receiving procedures are expected to take two days.
